Policies for Visitors to the Wistar Animal Facility:
You must notify the Animal Facility Director and or Animal Facility Resource Coordinator to receive clearance for admission of visitors to the Wistar Animal Facility.
All visitors must fill out a visitor and user risk form to comply with AAALAC, IACUC and Wistar security policies. These procedures are dictated both by the compliance agencies and by the need to minimize Wistar's risk of responsibility in the event of unforeseen accidents or untoward events.
Because of the many active animal infections and infestations at other Animal Facilities in Philadelphia, a 24-hour waiting period is required before visitors from other institutions are allowed entrance to Wistar's Animal Facility.
