Wistar Facility Rentals

Situated at the corner of 36th and Spruce Streets in the heart of Philadelphia’s bustling University City, The Wistar Institute offers a variety of versatile gathering spaces for year-round rental. The Wistar Institute was constructed in 1894 and designed by Philadelphia architects George W. and William G. Hewitt, who also designed the city’s Bellevue-Stratford Hotel. The original building is one of 28 contributing properties included in the University of Pennsylvania Campus Historic District. In 1975 Wistar expanded its facilities shortly after it earned the designation as a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in basic research, and in 2014 the seven-story, state-of-the-art Robert and Penny Fox Tower was completed, uniting the entire Wistar campus.
