Overview
The mission of
Wistar's Technology Transfer Department
and Office of Business Development is
to promote the commercialization of inventions
discovered at Wistar for society's use
and benefit while generating income to
support further research and education
at Wistar. Past commercial successes include
monoclonal antibodies for the diagnosis
and treatment of cancer and vaccines against
polio, rabies, and rubella.
Wistar's licensing opportunities are separated
into two categories:
- Technologies
(which are primarily for the diagnosis and treatment of disease
and often licensed on an exclusive basis, or are available for
sponsored research support)
- Research
Tools (which are licensed on a nonexclusive
basis for research purposes)
