The Wistar Gala

The Wistar GalaEvery other year, The Wistar Institute hosts a formal evening event featuring an elegant dinner and late-night dancing with many of Philadelphia’s business and community leaders.

Presented at the Wistar Gala, the Wistar Award is a biennial award given to an individual who reflects the qualities of compassion, integrity, generosity, commitment, and vision that the Institute’s founding members demonstrated. Beginning in 2013, the Caspar Wistar Medal of Achievement is also presented at the gala. This medal honors and individual or an organization that has had a significant impact on global health.

The 2013 Wistar Gala raised more than $300,000 to benefit the Building Wistar, Changing the World campaign.
