    • 16th Annual Albert R. Taxin Golf & Bridge Classic - May 22, 2011

In 1993, Philadelphia lost one its most beloved citizens, Albert Taxin, from an inoperable brain tumor. Albert was 53 years of age. He was well known by many throughout Philadelphia and by visitors to our city as the owner and operator of the famous Old Original Bookbinders restaurant.

In 1999 to memorialize Albert and to raise awareness of, and funds for, brain tumor research, Albert's widow, Doris Taxin, established the Albert R. Taxin Brain Tumor Research Center at The Wistar Institute.

The sole purpose of this event is to raise funds for more research and empower scientific advances into therapies for those who are afflicted with brain tumors and neurological diseases. Through the commitment and dedication of all who support this event, progress is being made.
